Help Out

NaNoWriMo is a non-profit organization, and the donations of the generous Wrimos and supporters worldwide keep it going. The PinoyWrimo community is also powered by the ML and some volunteer’s pockets. To everyone who has helped out, be in activity-planning, in donating prizes/goods, in cash or even with just moral support: THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!

How can I help?

  1. Volunteer to be a part of the organizing team for an activity. There are several activities lined up for this year, and the ML, as much of a multitasker as she is, cannot really handle it all alone. Volunteers to help plan and execute the said activities (ex. look for venues, print signs, encourage people to attend) are welcome! :D
  2. Writing Articles, Pep Talks. During November, a series of pep talks will be sent to the Wrimos to encourage them in their 50,000 word challenge. If you’re a writer or simply a supporter who believes in everything that the Wrimos can do, you may volunteer to send a pep talk to the group. If you have articles about writing, you may also send it too, and it will be featured on the website (with your permission, of course!).
  3. Workshops, etc. If you have a workshop that is related to what Wrimos do and you’d like to invite Wrimos so they can harness their crafts, invitations are accepted as well. Please note that these events are for voluntary basis only, and Wrimos cannot be mandated to attend such workshops. *
  4. A chance to win or get published. If you are a publisher who is looking for works or contributions for a collection of stories, some Wrimos who might want to get published would appreciate a heads up. Please send an email with the details of the contest or collection so it can be posted on the site. *
  5. Donate goodies. Wrimos are an easy to please bunch, and simple prizes for their November events is really enough to inspire them to write some more. Goodies that will be raffled off as prizes are most welcome donations, especially during Kick-Off, Write-In and TGIO events. These goodies can be as simple as a nice bookmark to notebook to food (chocolates and potato chips are favorites) to books (fiction and non-fiction) to GCs to things from the NaNoWriMo store — whatever you can give, it will be accepted with open arms. :)
  6. Donate in Cash. Cash donations are also very much welcome, as the ML is not as rich as she wants to be and cannot really spend so much for the November activities. If you do decide to donate in cash, we will forever thank you for your kindness. :) Donations can be made via PayPal (see below) or by check or bank transfer (send an email to the ML and write Cash Donations in the subject line).

If you would like to help in another way, please don’t hesitate to drop us a line. :)

You may also want to support the bigger cause that is NaNoWriMo, which, without it, we wouldn’t be here at all. Donations to NaNoWriMo make it possible for the event to happen every year. Learn more about donating to them here.

* These would be even more appreciated if it is done off season or right after November, since everyone would be too busy writing on November itself. :)
